The Government has announced land owners will receive compensation, the monetary compensation packages will be paid, if their land is compulsory purchased by the Government for the construction of the
Salvador – Itaparica Bridge.
The announcement by Globo News Channel confirms that residents will receive compensation, this is something local residents had concerns about.
Work started in Q1 2022 with the opening of the bridge expected by 2026.
A plan of the Islands rustic lands was made public back in 2016 and duly allocated to the project.
Although it’s generally a small number of families that have been affected, the compensation is very welcome news.

The Bridge project has been the main driver for real estate developers both commercial and residential on Itaparica Island since the announcement in 2019.
Itaparica Island has experienced a rapid double digit growth on legal properties and is anticipated to witness a minimum five fold growth in residents before 2030
